Indonesia, the largest Deforrester!

1000ends of blogs on Twitter are about the warming up of our earth. Somebody wrote: “We are borrowing the planet from our children”

Now they are the last we could leave the stewardship to look after our environment. We (78) raised our kids spoilt rotten as they do their children. My grandchildren.

They use cars for walking distances, fly 4x a year on holidays, eat take-aways wrapped in plastic and drink Beer from plastic cups. They shop everything multiple packed in plastic bags as it is soo convenient. Having fun! Can you blame them?

A German historian Philipp Blom wrote: “We’re driving our planet to edge of the cliff. My column from 2017 about this: https://anglocontinentalnews.blog/2017/11/03/society-destroys-itself-i-said-to-my-partner-10-years-ago/

Governments want to shut down farms as their cow shit produces Nitrogen. We should drive electric cars although the price of electricity to charge them is higher than petrol. And to produce the charging electricity causes more polution than driving an 8-Cylinder Cadillac.

Many come with hideous solutions which would be worse than Lockdown restrictions. They all forget to mention the biggest danger to our planet: DEFORRESTATION! I quote a Dutch online magazin: Kennislink

“In the period between 2000 and 2012, in Indonesia more than 60.200 square km (2x the size of Belgium) of rainforest disappeared! Researched by the Maryland University. Indonesia overtook Brazil as the world’s largest Deforrester.

The disappearing of rainforest does not only have disastrous local consequences as the reduction of Biodiversaty but also has an enormous impact on global climate change”. So far Kennislink from the Netherlands.

Now I have my own opinion about climate change but as I’m not a scientist, I’ll keep that to myself. But cutting down rainforests, taking away the living environment from local tribes and animals is a crime. It goes on unpunishid.

Ever thought of boycotting the trade with Indonesia or Brazil? Give Brazilian football players no licence in Europe? Or exclude those countries from a World Cup?

No! Cause it might damage our economy or the quality of your favourite football team. So we just close our eyes and attack farmers. This is hypocracy 1st class!
