Who planned the Concentration Camps?

A Twitter friend of mine posted recently about a visit to Auschwitz. To remind coming generations of the Holocaust. Auschwitz is nown as one of the most horrifying concentration camps. The Nazis told the Jews they were going to a working camp. “Arbeit Macht Glücklich”

Auschwitz after the war.

Though Bergen-Belzen and Treblinka were even worth! Ukranian camp guard Ivan the Terrible (real name John Demjejanuk) killed more than 10.000 prisoners single handed.

Now we’re living in a period where idiots deny the Holocaust. In Germany this is legally forbidden!

The camps were initially garded by “simple” soldiers. The extermination of Jews was done by firing squads or hanging. However the soldiers executing the prisoners often suffered from guilt and traumas. Hitler found it difficult to find volunteers. Even Adolf himself did not like the idea.

So he asked his top ministers. Himmler came up with a “better” idea. Convincing the Jews they were going to have a shower. In stead of water the douches sprayed Zyklon B gas. The awful deadly gas was produced by Bayer. Still one of globally the largest chemical Industries in the world!

But who planned the building of the camps? Nobody else than Werner von Braun. Germany’s most importand engineer during WWII. He even build the ramps to launch the V1 and V2 rockets firing on London. After the war the Americans made von Braun director of NASA. Many Nazi scientists were imported to Germany and became important figurers in the U.S. industry and defence ministry. It was called the Action Paperclip!

The Holocaust will unfortunately dwindle away in future generations. Although we all remember the French Revolution and the Guillotine.

Nevertheless, I hope my contribution helps my friend to memorise generations to these horrible times. Especially as a rememberance to my brave parents that were resistance fighters in WWII.
